Spring Vacation/Break

I love vacationing. I wish I could get a degree in vacationing. If there was such a thing. Like most, I have several vacation spots I enjoy traveling to at least once a year.  Florida and the Caribbean. Car, Plane or Cruise ship. I’m there! Miami is a favorite. The beaches, the food, and the drinks, my good goodness. The Grand Beach Hotel to me says “South Beach” affordable luxury. The crisp white and cream marble lobby my body immediately release the stress and tension. After I check-in to m y room, I usually slip into my most comfortable swimsuit and order an Old Cuban at the lobby bar. Hello, happiness, goodbye drama.

I love this hotel. The hotel is in a good location if you want that relaxing spa feel you are in the right place. But, if you want action party dancing, the hotel is close enough for you to get wrap-up in the Miami fun. The on site restaurant offers al cart and buffet fare. The pool is a tropical oasis and the beach is only steps away, which is a great place to catch the sunrise or sunset.

Another, fun location is the Dominican Republic (“DR”). DR is the perfect place to go when you want a quick fun in the sun get-a-way. Again, affordable luxury is my thing. I had the pleasure of residing at Ultravioleta in Cabarete. This “hidden treasure” is behind a beautiful wooden gate. The units are like luxury condos. I stayed in the second floor two-bedroom unit. My view of the beach and ocean was gorgeous. The unit has a full kitchen so you can cook or take a stroll down the beach to the string of restaurants.

While in the DR you have to check-out the Monkey Jungle and Zip Line Adventures. Oh my goodness, I had so much fun zipping through the trees. This is a cool place to chill, and learn about the monkey reserve and the great things Zip Line Adventure is doing for the community.

I fed this little cutie and friend during the tour of the reserve. Monkey Jungle is a 5 acres botanical garden. The garden is home to rescued capuchins and over 30 squirrel monkeys.

All proceeds goes towards the medical/dental clinic on site.

So if you looking for a place to get away from the craziness. Grand Beach Hotel in Miami and Ultravioleta in Cabarete, DR  are good choices.
