In an effort, to celebrate Women’s Day and honor that special Woman or “SHERO” in your life. Here are my “Top Picks” for that relaxing retreat or getaway.
#1 – Kura Hulanda Lodge and Beach Club, Curacao. If you are looking for a relaxing and romantic tropical getaway, or a place to surprise that special someone. You should checkout Kura Hulanda Lodge and Beach Club, located on the West End of Curacao.
This hotel is about a 30 minute drive from the island’s airport. If , by chance, you rent a car be prepared for the most interesting and beautiful scenic view of the island. Once you find this hidden gem, you will be welcome with a complimentary glass of island punch. The lobby is open and airy.
The room accommodations are excellent you cannot go wrong with the Garden View, Pool View, or the Ocean View. Each room will give you that tropical island experience. We choose the Ocean Terrance Junior Suite. The room was perfect, and included a kitchenette with a dining table. The Terrance was unbelievable and the view is out of this world.
We stop at one of the local market to grab some provision for our lazy days, which is funny because every morning when I prepared breakfast, we were visited by the iguanas, the birds and the geckos.
The area is well-known for scuba diving and snorkeling. The beaches are a prime spot to forget about your troubles and woes. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that Kura Hulanda Lodge and Beach Club was the location for Season 8 – “The Bachelorette.”
#2 – Hyatt Lodge @ McDonald Campus, Oak Brook, IL
This hotel is truly a private retreat in the middle of busy suburban Chicago. The surrounding ground will transport you from the City to that secluded haven in the woods. The idyllic McTrails are perfect for hiking, biking or taking that romantic stroll along the private lake.
This is a must see and visit you won’t believe how close you are to the City of Chicago, but still removed from the hustle and busal of the City. The bonus is that the Weber Grill restaurant is only a few miles away.
#3 – Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort, Phoenix, Az
My final getaway retreat Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort. This resort is an oasis in the desert. The spacious guest room, the fully stock mini bar and fireplace will keep you warm on those cool Arizona nights. It’s truley a awesome site to see how the streets wind up the hill revealing each units all nestled together. This retreat is just what the doctor ordered, stress-free and relaxation.
The resort has several restaurants; however, my all-time favorite and a “must see” is the restaurant “Different Point of View” I fell in love with the restaurant and after taking in the City view from the mountain top. I was blown away, figuratively not literally.
